• From Baazi Super Sundays To The Endeavour, Nishaanth Shanmughaundaram Emerges Victorious

Who said lightning doesn’t strike twice at the same place? Well, it did on Nishaanth Shanmughaundaram. His managed a second huge win within two months- first the Baazi Super Sundays and now The Endeavour.

With PokerBaazi.com even Tuesdays can’t go dreary. Tuesday tournament- The Endeavour 15 LAC GTD was cliched by Nishaanth who outlasted a field of brilliant players and walked off with the 5 LAC prize sum.

We congratulate him on winning the Endeavour 15 LAC GTD!

Nishaanth is a recreational player and has been playing poker for more than a year now. He works as a data scientist and loves anything related to data and strategy. He always had a deep passion for sports and games and played competitive chess for quite some time. Besides having represented India in Chess in the World Youth Chess Olympiad, Nishaanth also has quite an inkling towards Bridge. He also plays cricket during the weekends.

Q- How did you end up playing poker? What’s your poker story?

One of my best friends, Kaushik, introduced this skillful game to me about 1.5 years back. A few of my colleagues played frequent small stakes games and I went and observed those games. My passion for the game started there. Since I was in Bangalore, I started playing live first and then got into the online platforms.

Q- How do you feel after clinching 1st position in The Endeavour 15 LAC GTD?

I had a dream run last to last month. During that time, I came second in an Endeavour tournament. I feel very happy that I could close it this time.

Q- How tough was the field? How was your experience in the tournament?
The field, as usual, was pretty tough. The final table was one of the toughest I have had to play till now. It went on for close to 3-4 hours. The situation with the last 3 was pretty interesting as well as it was super swingy and we were all evenly poised to take it down.

Q- Any special moment/hand in the tourney?
I think when it was down to last 3, “AnshAA” was having 3:1 chip advantage at one point and was clearly applying ICM pressure. I had to make a tough all-in a call with a middle pair for my tourney life. Thankfully it all turned out well at the end.

Q- Do you plan to play more tournaments on PokerBaazi.com?

Of course! PokerBaazi has been always my favorite platform. I love everything about PokerBaazi. They have an amazing software (with all the emojis), faster cashouts, amazing tourney structures and the best customer support. I would really like to thank Navkiran, Anirudh, Varun, Avneet and everyone who is behind this amazing site.

Q- What are your thoughts on the 2 upcoming mega-events on PokerBaazi – ‘The MoneyMaker 2.0’ and the ‘PokerBaazi Premier League Winter Edition’?

I am really looking forward to these mammoth events as the GTDs are huge.

Q- What are your thoughts on the positive and quick-growing numbers in poker?

It’s really encouraging to see the growth of Poker in India. I am sure the efforts taken by the marketing team of PokerBaazi.com is paying rich dividends. I am also sure the taboo around Poker will go soon and Poker will earn its rightful place as a skill-game.

Q- Have you previously played the other big events such as The MoneyMaker 1 Crore GTD and the PokerBaazi Premier League? If yes, how was your experience?

Yes, I played the last MoneyMaker. It was an amazing grind, I ran deep (came 20th for around 1L).

Q- Any words of advice for fellow Baazigars?

To be honest, I am still very much an amateur, I have been running very good ( although I am working hard on my game as well ). I think skill is a bit overrated and discipline a bit underrated in poker.

Thank You for your time Nishaanth. Wish you all the best for future tournaments. Keep Grinding!
