Vinayak Bajaj is one of the most respected names in the Indian Poker industry. One of the biggest crushers online, Vinayak has over INR 4 Crores in lifetime poker earnings and he does not plan to stop anytime soon! 

The poker pro had a profitable National Poker Series as well as he earned Silver and Bronze (#79 Friday Force 30 LAC GTD and #54 BIG KO 20 LAC GTD respectively) medals for himself, just missing out on the Gold. However, his consistent performances were very impressive. 

India Poker News couldn’t let this go unnoticed and we were able to get in touch with Vinayak and talk to him about this poker journey and his views on the National Poker Series on PokerBaazi! 

IPN: Tell us something about yourself, where you’re from, childhood, studies, college life.

VB: My name is Vinayak Bajaj. I have done my graduation in M.Sc. chemistry from IIT Kharagpur. I live in Ranchi.

IPN: How did you get into poker?

VB: I started playing poker in college with some of my friends. That is where my interest grew and decided to put more time into it . 

IPN: Tell us about your National Poker Series grind and what was going on in your head during the series.

VB: My NPS went off great . I  had a good run and my off the table work paid off .I was clear in my mind with my strategies. Just wanted to execute it properly.

IPN: How do you think the game has changed over the last couple of years in terms of skill and is it harder to take down big events nowadays than it was when you started playing?

VB: Yeah , the games have become much more difficult. There are so many players working hard and so much information available online. The level has definitely gone up.

IPN: What are your views on the new PokerBaazi app?

VB: The new PokerBaazi App is great . With the new features out it is fun to play on the app .

IPN: What are 3 essential things for you while playing online or live poker?

VB: I think the most important part of playing is enjoying the game. Being aware and focused while playing and not getting frustrated irrespective of results! 

IPN: What’s your favorite book? What was the last book you have read?

VB: Honestly, I am not very much into books. But I read Rafa Nadal’s biography recently.

IPN: Are you a better poker player online or live?

VB: I am a better online player. I haven’t played live a lot.
