Latest news coming in puts another Indian Poker Player in the limelight. Yes, we are talking about none other than Raman Gujral who won his first ever-international poker title in the $1,100 NLHE for $76,760 (₹54.64 Lakhs)!
Nicknamed as the “Grandfather of Indian poker” with 15 years of experience on the felts, Gujaral was one of the few Indians to qualify for the PSPC through the inaugural season of the GPL India. Known for his cash games, Gujral made his mark in the tournament circuit when he won his first title at the PokerGuru Tour Season 2 – May Edition for ₹1.5 Lakhs.
The final table was no piece of cake for Gujral. The table featured some of the big names in International poker including Jack Sinclair (WSOP winner), Florian Duta (British pro) and Pascal Hartmann (German veteran poker player). Gujral navigated his way through this though field to go heads up against Ukraine’s Artem Zverkhovskyy. Zverkhovskyy is a familiar name in the live tournament circuit with $302,188 to his name in live tournament cashes. However, it was Gujral who had the final word this time when he improved his pair of sevens in the final showdown and Zverkhovskyy had to settle for the runner-up position.
