Anson Tsang Wins WSOPE €2,200 PLO (€91,730)
As the seventh event of 2018 World Series of Poker Europe drew to an end another winner was going to be crowned and given the coveted gold bracelet at the King’s Casino! The €2,200 Pot-Limit Omaha 8-Handed Event was no walk in the park with 187 entries and it was Hong Kong’s Anson Tsang who emerged victorious after some intense game play. Tsang took home €91,730 after defeating Ilya Bulychev and his first maiden bracelet.
It was no surprise to see the two battle it out heads-up since they were the front runners in the initial two days of play. Tsang had a comfortable lead over Bulychev and reduced heads up play to a mere 20 minutes. After turning the nut straight and jamming into his opponent, Tsang held a commanding lead and the duo clashed again the very next hand. This time, Bulychev had the best of it on the flop with the nut straight, while Tsang held bottom set. Instead of the full house, running hearts gave Tsang the winning flush and that sealed his victory.
With this clincher Tsang sits in the fourth place in the Hong Kong all-time money list with $2.4 million in cashes, but goes down as the first to win a WSOP bracelet! What a proud moment indeed!
