Daniel Negreanu Brings Back $50,000 Side Bet for the U.S Poker Open

The US Poker Open kicked off on 1st February, 2018 with the $10,000 No Limit Hold’em Event. The Aria Resort & Casino once again plays host to the tournament series which comprises of 8 events with buy-ins ranging between $10,000 to $50,000 and also features Pot Limit Omaha as well as Eight-Game mix events as part of the schedule.

In a recent tweet, Canadian Poker Pro Daniel Negreanu reintroduced his $50,000 bet to take home the US Poker Open Cup. The bet is similar to the one he made with 20 fellow poker pros before the start of the Poker Masters series last year. He would have won an extra million if he had taken down the event!

Similarly if Negreanu wins the USPO trophy, whoever accepts the bet will have to pay him $50,000. If any of the other players in on the bet win, Negreanu must pay that person $50,000. As more players accept the bet, there is a higher chance that he will lose money, if he doesn’t win the trophy. However, on the flip side, if he does win, he’ll receive a much larger overall payout if multiple challengers join in on the side bet.

So far Bryn Kenney and Benjamin Pollak have accepted Negreanu’s challenge.

The USPO Tournament Schedule:

Feb 1 – $10,000 No-Limit Hold’em
Feb 2 – $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha
Feb 3 – $25,000 No-Limit Hold’em
Feb 5 – $25,000 Mixed Game Championship
Feb 6 – $10,000 No-Limit Hold’em
Feb 7 – $25,000 No-Limit Hold’em
Feb 8 – $25,000 No-Limit Hold’em
