Doug Polk Announces Retirement From Poker

Doug Polk, a poker player, a cryptocurrency and mainstream news podcaster has decided to call it quits on the felts. Polk, 29 and just three months away from his 30th birthday has an outstanding record to his name. The record includes $9.4 million in lifetime live tournament winnings, three WSOP bracelets and probably the best heads-up online poker player the felts have ever seen!

Polk recently completed the WSOP $100-to-$10,000 poker challenge, one that began two years ago. Probably the last time his fans got to see him play. This coupled with the fact that he hasn’t been active on the felts lately made him certain he wouldn’t want to be chasing flush draws all his life.

Polk is ready for a change in his life. “You know, I’m not going to play poker anymore,” he said. “That’s a chapter in my life story that’s coming to a close. I had a great time. I had a blast. Poker has given me so much.” So what’s next? With the knowledge bank and experience he’s got we are going to see more content for sure. The content will focus less on cryptocurreny and poker and will focus on mainstream topics.

This doesn’t mean I’m never going to play poker again,” he said in his most recent YouTube video. “I’ll probably play occasionally from time to time for fun. Maybe, at some point down the road it will be something that I really want to get back into, and the flame will reignite and I want to play a lot of poker, I really don’t know.”

A step down memory lane helps recall what an outstanding player Doug became. He was a serious threat ever since he hit the felts and often exchanged vocal battles with his fellow counterparts.

Well its tough to see the poker community bid adieu to Polk and even harder to imagine the felts without him!
