Home Soil Turns Lucky For Tim Burt

The Gulf Coast Poker Championship took place at the Beau Rivage Casino in Mississippi with a host of 13 events. It recently concluded and shining bright with his tournament outcomes is American native and 37 year old Tim Burt.

He started off his winning spree by taking down the opening event for $42,563 and beating a massive field of 1738 players. The big one followed shortly after when he went onto clinch the Main Event for $103,752. The field was equally tough with the event attracting 375 entries and setting both a tournament and state record.

The event has continued to see their numbers increase over the years and what seems to be working is what they call the ‘Beau format’ where all Day 2 players are guaranteed to be in the money.

Mississippi native Burt is ecstatic about his wins on home soil and is grateful to the community. Burt’s story is one to hear as he went from serving in the Army to pursuing a career as a poker professional and boy his numbers do speak for him.
