Stephen Chidwick Leads the Way at the US Poker Open 2018 with Back to Back Victories

2018 US Poker Open

After 3 events at the inaugural US Poker Open, it was UK Pro ‘Stephen Chidwick’ who topped the leader board with his victory in the $25,000 NLHE event for a cool payout of $374,000.

Well, he certainly cemented his position at the top by registering late and shipping the very next event – $25,000 Mixed Game Championship. That’s a pretty amazing feat especially considering his opponents are some of the best players in the world.

Chidwick is considered one of the most talented players from Europe and has won more than $10 Million in live tournaments, and is 2nd on the England all time money list.

Phil Hellmuth, Daniel Negreanu and Issac ‘Ike’ Haxton were a few well known names among 45 entries at the $25,000 8 Game event. The six handed final table began with Ike Haxton holding a comfortable lead with 2.3Mn chips. Chris Vitch was second in chips with 1.4Mn while Chidwick was in third with a little over 1Mn followed by Dan Shak (926k), Ben Pollack (656k) and Phil Hellmuth the short stack on 372k.
