Stephen Chidwick Ships the $25,000 No Limit Hold’em Event at the Inaugural US Poker Open

After 3 events at the inaugural US Poker Open, it is UK Pro ‘Stephen Chidwick’ who leads the way with his victory in the $25,000 NLHE event for a cool payout of $374,000. Keith Tilston and Daniel Negreanu finish 2nd and 3rd in the same event.

Chidwick who is considered one of the most talented players from Europe has won more than $10 Million in live tournaments, but is yet to win a bracelet. The UK pro’s chipstack was reduced to less than half the 2nd shortest stack within 8 hands of the beginning of the day at the 6-max final table.

The first player to be eliminated at the final table was Seth Davies by Keith Tilston. He was followed by Brett Hanks and Jake Schindler who both lost their stacks to Chidwick.

Three handed play lasted nearly an hour and a half and it was finally the short stacked Daniel Negreanu who was busted by Tilston and walked away with $165,000. Heads up play began with both Tilston and Chidwick at nearly equal stacks and went on for around two and a half hours. It was Chidwick who finally emerged victorious and moved into the overall lead at the US Poker Open.
