It is quite hard winning a tournament in poker, however good you are at the game. Variance plays a huge part and you could find yourself having played for months on end without a single victory. Japanese Poker Pro Yuki Ko, recently took down not one but two live events at the Pokerstars Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) –  APPT National Korea as well as the Single-Day High Roller.
On 11th April 2018, Yuki Ko maneuvered through a field of 226 entries to win the APPT National Korea and take home $31,600 as well as a Platinum Pass ($30,000 package to players championship in the Bahamas next year) for his efforts. He then proceeded to immediately jump into the Single-Day High Roller which he shipped again for around $62,000. In all, Ko picked up nearly $120,000 in prizes that day!

In July last year, PokerStars Festival Korea took place at the very same Paradise City Hotel & Resort venue in Incheon. Yuki Ko outlasted most of the field to enter into a heads-up match vs Taehoon Han of New Zealand. Han defeated Ko and the latter could not take the loss out of his mind for a long time.

In the APPT National Korea Yuki Ko finally found himself heads up against the very same Taehoon Han, and this time managed to get the better of him.  “I’ll never forget about the heads-up match we played last time. From the moment we both made the final table, I was so excited thinking that we might get into the same situation again,” Ko told pokernews. “I thought I should try harder and be more aggressive than the last time we played,” he added.

A look at the final table payouts:

1. Yuki Ko – $31,600
