Casinos Shut Down As 4-Day Lockdown Imposed In Goa

The Goa state government has imposed a 4-day lockdown starting from today. Chief Minister of Goa, Pramod Sawant made the announcement that the lockdown will begin at 7 PM today and end at 6 AM on May 3rd. Pramod Sawant has asked the locals to not panic and stay calm.

He said, “People should not panic as all grocery stores and essential services will be allowed to operate. I also urge migrant labourers to not leave the state. Casinos and bars have been ordered to remain shut during the four-day lockdown.”

Casinos have been shut down again for the lockdown period. It was only last November that the government had allowed the casinos to reopen at a maximum 50% capacity. All of the casino operators have communicated the shut down of operations through their social media accounts to inform the public.
