The National Poker Series Day 15 Round-Up

The National Poker Series worth INR 15 Crores GTD kicked-off on 13th June on PokerBaazi. The final day of the incredible series was played out yesterday.

Everything was on the line, the NPS Podium, the series Leaderboard and a chance to become India’s first poker Gold Medalist! Let’s take a look back at the tournaments from last night: 

  • NPS#90 SLAM DUNK 10 LAC GTD (RE)

The first non-flight event of the final day of NPS was the NPS#90 Slam Dunk 10 LAC GTD (RE) event. The tournament received a total of 868 entries creating a prize pool of INR 21,70,000 with a min. cash of INR 3,689 and 108 places paid.

Anonymous ID, ‘dipankar29’ earned the first gold medal on Day 15 of the NPS as he shipped the Slam Dunk event for a payout of INR 2,91,501.  ‘Macchi’ earned themselves the Silver medal for finishing runner-up and bagging INR 3,54,290.

These two players made a deal before starting heads-up play. Vivek ‘Nutpeddling729’ Singh finished in 3rd place and earned himself a payout of INR 1,72,081! All players receive Gold, Silver and Bronze medals respectively. 

  • NPS#91 SUNDAY MARATHON 30 LAC GTD (RE)

Next up on NPS Day 15 was the NPS#91 Sunday Marathon 30 LAC GTD (RE) event. The tournament received a total of 905 entries creating a prize pool of INR 45,25,000 with a min. cash of INR 7,692 and 108 places paid.

Vishnu ‘violator’ Khandelwal shipped the event and earned themselves a payout of INR 7,91,875! ‘Executioner00’ finished in second place and earned himself a payout of INR 5,54,765! ‘x4darksoul’ finished in third position for a payout of INR 3,58,832. All players receive Gold, Silver and Bronze medals respectively. 

  • NPS#92 NPS GOLDEN RUSH 1 CR GTD (FINALE)

Next up on the schedule was the one that everyone was looking forward to since Day 1 of the National Poker Series. The Finale of the 1 Crore GTD Golden Rush event took place last night.

Across 15 starting flights, the Golden Rush received a total of 19,249 entries and only 1777 players were able to make it onto Day 2. Vivek ‘V42V’ Bajaj took down this massive event and earned himself his first gold medal and a payout of INR 9,15,000!

Following him in second place, anonymous ID, ‘Neha94’ finished in 2nd place of the Golden Rush for a payout of INR 6,13,000! Poker reg and one of the most experienced players in the country, Sumit ‘boronyx’ Sapra finished in third place and earned himself a payout of INR 4,67,000! 

  • NPS#93 NPS MAIN EVENT 3 CR GTD (DAY 2)

The most awaited event of the whole series was the INR 3 Crores GTD NPS Main Event. Across 7 starting flights, the Main Event received a total of 5,977 entries from which only 735 players were able to make it onto the all important Day 2. 

In the early hours of the morning, we were down to the final three players. In such huge events and massive guarantees, experience plays a very important role and that’s what happened as it was none other than the Kick-Off event winner,

Mohammad Azhar ‘chandlerbing’ Tak who took down the INR 3 Crores GTD Main Event down and earned himself a life-changing payout of INR 50,13,000! Following him in second place was Ashwani ‘Leokarma2609’ Vishwakarma.

He earned himself a payout of INR 33,21,000! The Main Event Bronze medal went to anonymous ID, ‘Think_again’ with which they earned themselves a payout of INR 20,40,000! 

  • NPS#94 SPRINT 5 LAC GTD (RE)

The final event of the final day of the NPS was the 5L GTD Sprint event. The tournament received a total of 1,407 entries creating a prize pool of INR 14,07,000 with a min. cash of INR 1,829 and 144 places paid. 

‘13anurag’ shipped the event and earned themselves a payout of INR 2,36,376! ‘AJ15’ finished in second place and earned himself a payout of INR 1,65,744! ‘Calculator18’ finished in third position for a payout of INR 1,77,494.

All players receive Gold, Silver and Bronze medals respectively. So, this was all that was there for the players to go for on the Final day of the National Poker Series INR 15 Crores GTD on PokerBaazi! 

NPS Podium

The objective of the National Poker Series was to find India’s first poker gold medalist. It was a close battle throughout the series and anyone of the top 3 players on the podium could’ve finished on the number one spot on that list going into the final day of the series. 

But we don’t think that there’s anyone more deserving to win the NPS Podium and earn themselves a chance to represent India at the biggest stage in Las Vegas. It is none other than Mohammad Azhar ‘chandlerbing’ Tak

Mohammad Azhar took down 3 incredibly high value events that earned him that top spot on the NPS Podium was a total of 30 points (3 Gold Medals). He shipped the INR 50L GTD Kick-Off event, the INR 30L GTD Friday Force as well as last night, the elusive INR 3 Crores GTD The Main Event.

It has been an incredible run for him and deservedly tops the NPS Podium! Ankit ‘d00mtr00p3r’ Wadhavan finished in 2nd place on the NPS Podium with a total of 20 points that included 1 Gold and 2 Silver medals. 

Kritagya ‘kritagya_17’ Sharma finished in 3rd place on the NPS Podium with a total of 17 points that included 1 Gold, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze medals. 

NPS Series Leaderboard

Apart from the all important NPS Podium, the series had a regular series leaderboard worth INR 35 Lakhs as well. And guess who came out on top of the Series Leaderboard as well? Mohammad Azhar ‘chandlerbing’ Tak! 

One of the most brilliant series performances we’ve seen, Mohammad Azhar has absolutely torn apart the fields in the first edition of the National Poker Series! He earned himself an extra INR 7 Lakhs for topping the series leaderboard! 

Following him closely was none other than the Leaderboard specialist himself, Bhanu ‘Chennaiono1’ Prakash who finished in 2nd place on the series leaderboard for INR 5.5 Lakhs while Vinay ‘vinay09’ Rajpal settled for 3rd place on the series leaderboard for a payout of INR 4 Lakhs! 

The National Poker Series on PokerBaazi has been one of the most talked about series ever to be played in India, and although it couldn’t be held live, the online version certainly exceeded the expectations of the players. Incredible guarantees combined with great structures is an easy winning mantra.
