PPL February’20: Day 8 Highlights

Day 8 of the ongoing PokerBaazi Premier League concluded last night, and we are now at the business end of the series with only two days remaining. Let’s take a look at the Day 8 Highlights:

PPL #44: 2L GTD 6-Max WTB (RE)

The Day kicked off with a 2 LAC guaranteed Win The Button 6-Max event with a buy-in of INR 1,100. 99 entries and 104 re-entries is what was recorded in the event, and the top 24 players were paid out. Two familiar names in this Edition of the PPL found themselves heads-up, and it was eventually Dinnesh “Daddu” Pilkhwal who defeated PPL Leaderboard topper Rony “bisadip176” Chowdhury. The two players added some valuable TLB points in addition to taking home paydays of INR 49,024 and INR 34,367 respectively.

PPL #45:  2L GTD 7-Max PKO (RE)

Next up was a 2 LAC guaranteed Progressive Knockout event with a buy-in of 1,650. 92 entries came along for this one, utilizing an additional 89 re-entries. With the top 21 players paid out, it was eventually Bhanu “Channaino1” Prakash who came out on top of the field, winnings himself INR 49,740 in prize money. Second place was taken by Vaibhav “durrrr1310” Saigal (INR 34,860).

PPL #46: 10L GTD (RE)

Event number three for the Day was a 10 LAC guaranteed re-entry event with a buy-in of INR 3,300. It attracted a field of 143 players, who added another 142 in re-entries. 36 players were paid out, and winning the event after coming out on top of a big Final Table was Shagun “sogani22” Jain, who defeated poker pro Raghav “thatssosick” Bansal heads up.  Both players took home paydays of INR 2,20,900 and INR 1,55,000 respectively.

PPL #47: 15L GTD Value Town (5RE)

Next up was the featured event of the day, and possibly the most high-value event of the series, the 15 LAC guaranteed Value Town. The buy-in for this event was just INR 1,650, and it recorded a massive field of 667 players and 436 re-entries, pushing the pool up to 16.54L. 126 players made it ITM, and the biggest chunk of the pool was taken by our winner, Hardit “maddawg” Singh (INR 2,81,430). Second place was taken by Kshitij “kshban31” Bansasl (INR 1,97,216).

PPL #48: 2L GTD 6-Max Holdem Boost (RE)

The next event of the Day was the 2 LAC guaranteed Holdem Boost event, which clocked 115 entries and 99 re-entries, taking the pool up to 2.14L. Finishing on top of the field once again was Bhanu “Chennaino1” Prakash (INR 50,354), who defeated Vikas “nohomejerome” Yadav (INR 35,331) Heads up for the title.


The event of the Day was a 5 LAC guaranteed Pot-Limit Omaha event with a buy-in of 2,750. 122 entries and 158 re-entries were recorded in the event, taking the pool up to 7 LACS. 36 players were paid out and it was MD Taukir “shaddy” Alam who finished on top of the pack, defeating Ankit “akj290” Jajodia heads up. Both players received INR 1,54,630 and INR 1,08,500 respectively.
